Schalan has wanted to be a hairdresser since she was in first grade, and it never changed! In high school she knew she wanted to own her own hair salon. She graduated from Paul Mitchell The School San Antonio in 2009. It was there she knew she wanted to become a Paul Mitchell National Educator and stay apart of the Paul Mitchell family somehow. Schalan went on to work for a Paul Mitchell focus salon. Schalan worked there until she was ready to open her own. Schalan opened the door to her own salon In October 2014. She loves giving new hairstylists education and an opportunity to blossom with her. Schalan has now been a Paul Mitchell National Color Educator a little over seven years. Hair is more than her job or career, it is her life style. Even her twelve year old daughter, Kaydin, thinks mannequins are normal staples to their home! Whether she is at her salon doing a color, or on stage teaching the newest trends and products from John Paul Mitchell Systems, she truly loves ever single bit of the industry and her career. She will tell everyone her key to success is to make many goals and hold yourself accountable. Her favorite quote goes hand and hand with that, “shoot for the moon and if you must miss you will land among the stars”. After owning a business through a pandemic, Schalan learned that constantly pivoting and adapting are extremely important or you will not make it. Schalan also loves to give back to her community any way she can. Being a Fire Wive , to one of our San Antonio Firefighters, she has started a First Responded Friday discount. Now each and every Friday first responders and their spouses will receive 20% all regular priced services. She is also a softy when it comes to rescuing animals. Schalan is also a Dog Mom to three rescue pups; Spruce, Julie, and Dolly. Her husband found all of them, or should we say, they found him while on duty.

TEYONA “YONNA” STEVENSON

Hello Personal Touch Salon clients and friends, I love being a part of Personal Touch Salon. I am grateful for the opportunities for growth that comes with working for a National Paul Mitchell Educator team.

I was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. In 2018, I relocated to Austin, TX and then to San Antonio shortly after. I have been doing hair for as long as I can remember for family or friends. Early in my adulthood, I also became interested in make-up and fashion. This is where I had my “glow-up” and my career in the beauty industry began. Throughout the last 8 years, I have explored the many areas of cosmetology and I keep finding myself reunited with hair so it must be where I belong!

I love connecting with my clients by listening. People will always tell you what you need to hear or know about them. I love to laugh so it is easy to break down walls with joy and laughter. I consider myself to be very funny. I believe laughter and good hair is the key to the soul. I have a cosmetology and barber license. I have always taken an interest in male haircutting. I love having a well-rounded skill set when it comes to my career. For 2022, I believe the possibilities are endless when applying both techniques from Cosmetology and Barbering. I love how this opens up opportunities to meet new clientele. Yonna is also Bellami extension certified.

Fun facts about me: I am a dog mom to two pitbulls (one red nose and one blue nose); I love to dance (9/10 you can catch me busting some moves while doing hair); I am currently involved in hip-hop cardio dance classes; and I am a connoisseur of chicken wings and pizza.

I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective to the salon and to sharing all of my experience and techniques I have practiced for several hours on end to become a better stylist. I think I have unique work methods that I can share with the team and vice versa.

Leigha Gonzales

Leigha is a Paul Mitchell graduate with a passion for making people look and feel great while in her chair . Leigha has been with Personal Touch over five years. She enjoys listening to her guest wants and needs and making their ideal hair style , color or cut come to life . Leigha is Bellami Extension certified. While attending school she fell in love with the Paul Mitchell culture , which is all about giving back and helping anyway we can and she aims to reflect that to all of her guest. Leigha is also a wife, mother to two beautiful girls, and a dog mom as well.

KAYLEE HOWARD, ASSISTANT MANAGER

Kaylee is a shining star stylist and our Assistant Manager at Personal Touch Salon. She graduated from Paul Mitchell esthetician program in April of 2021 and graduated the cosmetology program May of 2022. She has always enjoyed skin care, makeup, and doing hair. Making people feel and look beautiful is what Kaylee wants to do. She loves doing lived-in colors, blonding, and doing Bellami extensions. She also helps run our social media from making Instagram posts to planning TikToks. Outside of the salon, Kaylee likes to hangout with her girl friends and play pickle ball!
