If you can’t make it to the salon to get your hair and makeup done, here are some great tips to help you look your best.
You can never go wrong with beautiful curls. The best way to get great curls effortlessly is to invest in a great styling wand. One of our client favorites is the Express Ion Unclipped 3-in-1 Styling wand. It comes with 3 interchangeable ceramic barrels that help you create natural curls, loose waves or pretty ringlets. The ceramic barrels are infused with the Express Ion Complex, which is a mixture of volcanic minerals that help keep your hair shiny and healthy. It also heats up to 410 degrees for those with a coarser texture.
Braids and twists are a fun way to turn your everyday look into something fun and beautiful. Braids look great added to a low ponytail or bun or even to add a little decoration after you curl your hair. A salon favorite product to use with braids and twists is our Invisiblewear Pump Me Up Powder. It’s a volumizing powder that can be applied to the base of the hair for and extra boost, or to a braid or twist to help with the textured or deconstructed look.
Adding a beautiful shimmery gold, silver or bronze eye shadow or highlight is a great way to turn your day look into a beautiful evening look. If you’re not comfortable with a bright shimmery eye shadow, adding a little bit of a subtle highlight can have a similar effect. You want to focus on the points that the light will hit i.e., tops of cheekbones, tip of the nose, under the brow and the inner corners of the eye.
Falsies are a great way to make you look all dolled up in about 2 minutes. False lashes come in a variety of shapes and thicknesses, so whether you’re going for a subtle look or you want to go full on glamazon, there’s a great pair of lashes there waiting to help you. Application can be a little tricky, but what’s life without a few obstacles, right? Once you find your perfect pair, measure them against your eye and trim the ends if need be. Then apply lash glue and allow it time to dry slightly and become a tacky texture. Apply them as close to the lash line as possible and finish with a little black liquid eyeliner on top to give a seamless effect.
We hope these tips help you look your best in whatever situation life may bring! Here are some photos of beautiful updos we've done recently in the salon.
