Schalan Gives Us Her Expert Color Tips

Personal Touch Salon Owner, Schalan is giving us the rundown on how she does the perfect hair color service for her clients. First, to color her client's "wisdom highlights" Schalan will utilize the Color Chocolate Series, as well as, the new Syncro Soft Lightener and Crema XG. The Syncro Soft contains shea and can lift hair color up seven levels! Schalan loves this product because it feels super creamy and leaves your hair feeling incredibly conditioned. She starts mixing her color in small equal ratios, 1 oz. SS and 1 oz. 20 Cream XG. The two products mix together in a luxurious frosting-style consistency. Next, for her client's base color, she uses the Color Chocolate Series, and mixes equal parts 8CH (.5 oz) and 7N (.5 oz) and then she adds 20 Cream. Schalan says you can mix this with cream or clear, but for grey coverage she likes to Cream to condition a little more. She applies color and lightener and then lets it set in.

After shampooing, Schalan applies a little more Crema XG (two parts 10PA and one part 8PA) to help neutralize any yellow or oranges hues to a much cooler tone. Schalan also lets us know she really is loving the Crema XG, while it is ammonia free, it's still tone to tone to the Color XG. She tells us that she mixes equal parts again for toning. When Schalan tones, she outlines and defines first, it helps her speed up the process.

After touchups, we see the client's perfect color! Schalan also shows us the shampoo/conditioning products she used which are from Paul Mitchell's newest line called Clean Beauty. Schalan chose these products because they make your hair so soft and silky! She also raves about the anti-frizz product from the Clean Beauty line because it keeps hair bouncy and light.
